Some of the corn varieties we've worked with
Candy Canes
Candy Canes are selectively bred to bring out the
genes for the bright white background colors to contrast with the red or
dark orange saddles causing them to resemble candy canes. The Amelanistic
gene was breed into the Miami gene to genetically lighten up the
background color, while accenting the brightness of the red saddles.

Coral Snows (hypo snows)

|
Our Coral Snow project consists of a male Hypo, het
for Snow and a female Snow, het for Hypo. Very few breeders are
producing Hypo Snows. I've been obsessed with producing them ever since
Don Soderberg of South Mountain Reptiles showed me
a photo of
one of his Hypo Snows. |
Normal Corns
"Normal corns" as they're called, are
representative of what natural wild corns look like. Breeders sometimes
refer to these as WT, meaning "wild-type" or "without
trait".

There is a lot of variation among wild populations,
but many of the corns found in the wild look every bit, if not more,
colorfully orange as these. Some localized populations (like Okeetee
area in So. Carolina & Miami and it's surrounding areas in Fla.) even have their own unique characteristics
that set them apart from the so-called normal corns.

Aztec
A very cool looking pattern in which the dorsal markings
are randomly linear, broken,
stretched out, etc. sometimes resembling Aztec Art
designs.
